Governor's Office Internship

The Office of Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter provides internship opportunities for current college and graduate students who are interested in experiencing the day-to-day operations of the chief executive’s office. The Governor’s Office is responsible for overseeing the administration of state departments, agencies, and boards and commissions, as well as promoting responsible government and empowering Idahoans.

The goal of the internship is to provide students with the opportunity to become familiar with all aspects of the operation of the Governor’s office. More specifically, interns will assist administratively, aid in media relations, and, where appropriate, respond to correspondence from constituents. Interns will be given as much substantive work as possible and will interact directly with staff and assist in state government operations.

There are three internships available during the fall, spring and summer sessions. Applicants should be organized, self-motivated, and energetic individuals. Students with strong writing and research skills are encouraged to apply. Interns are expected to be professional and respectful while working in the Governor’s Office.

If you have any questions, please contact the internship coordinator at (208) 334-2100.
