(BOISE) – Here are some of the upcoming events on Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter’s schedule. This schedule is provided for newsroom planning purposes only and is subject to change. All listed times are local to the event.

MONDAY, AUGUST 4

  • Governor Otter accepts boxer Cleveland Corder’s gift to the State of Idaho of his championship belt, 9 a.m., Building 4, Idaho State Police Headquarters, 700 S. Stratford Drive, Meridian.
  • Governor Otter conducts a Cabinet meeting, including representatives of the Idaho State Police, Commission of Pardons and Parole, State Board of Education, Office of Drug Policy, Military Division, Division of Veterans Services, State Liquor Dispensary, and Idaho Lottery, 9:30 a.m., Idaho State Police Headquarters, Region 3 Building, Multi-Purpose Room, 700 S. Stratford Drive, Meridian.
  • Governor Otter presents a Purple Heart to Marine Specialist Chad Pfeifer, 3:30 p.m., 2nd Floor Courtroom, Borah Building, 8th and Bannock streets, Boise.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 5

  • Governor Otter conducts a Cabinet meeting, including representatives of the Bureau of Occupational Licenses, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, Department of Juvenile Corrections, and State Industrial Commission, 9 a.m., Department of Juvenile Corrections office, 954 W. Jefferson, Boise.
  • Governor Otter tours new LDS Temple, 2:30 p.m., 1405 Eastland Drive North, Twin Falls.
  • Governor Otter welcomes the public to the Governor’s Transportation Funding Conference, 4 p.m., Red Lion Canyon Springs, 1357 Blue Lakes Boulevard North, Twin Falls.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6

  • Governor Otter meets privately with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, 1 p.m., National Interagency Fire Center, Boise.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 7

  • Governor Otter joins Governor Jim Gibbons of Nevada, state agency officials from Montana and Wyoming, state agency representatives from Idaho, federal agency representatives, ranchers, conservationists and other stakeholders on a policy discussion and backcountry trail ride through the Lemhi Valley.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 8

  • Governor Otter signs a proclamation recognizing the 100th anniversary of St. Charles Catholic Church, 12:45 p.m., 505 Hope Avenue, Salmon.
