(BOISE) – Here are some of the upcoming events on Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter’s schedule. This schedule is provided for newsroom planning purposes only and is subject to change. All listed times are local to the event.

 

MONDAY, OCTOBER 6

  • Governor Otter tours progress on construction of the Center for Advanced Energy Studies facility, 10:30 a.m., 995 University Blvd., Idaho Falls.
  • Governor Otter addresses the Idaho Falls City Club, Chamber of Commerce and Grow Idaho Falls groups, noon, Bennion Student Union Building, University Place, Idaho Falls.
  • Governor Otter and First Lady Lori Otter present the Idaho Commission on the Arts annual Governor’s Awards, 7 p.m., Colonial Theatre, Willard Arts Center, 498 A St., Idaho Falls.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8

  • Governor Otter gives opening remarks at the Idaho State Fire Plan Working Group’s annual Wildland Fire Conference, 8:30 a.m., Doubletree Riverside, Garden City.
  • Governor Otter signs a proclamation making October 6-12 “National Learn and Serve Challenge Week” in Idaho, 9:30 a.m., Hatch Ballroom, Student Union Building, Boise State University, Boise.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9

  • Governor Otter “flips the switch” to light the Idaho Regional Optical Network, providing Idaho with access to a new, high-speed state network for state government, health-care providers, and research and education communities, 10 a.m., Syringa Network, 3795 S. Development Ave., Boise.
  • Governor Otter signs a proclamation for “International Credit Union Day” in Idaho, 12:30 p.m., 2nd Floor Courtroom, Borah Building, 8th and Bannock streets, Boise.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10

  • Governor Otter signs a proclamation making October “Hunger Awareness Month” in Idaho, 8:10 a.m., Ballroom, Doubletree Riverside, Garden City.
  • Governor Otter and First Lady Lori Otter host the March of Dimes Blue Jeans Ball, 5 p.m., Otter Ranch, Star.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11 through WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22

  • Governor Otter and First Lady Lori Otter lead an Idaho trade mission to Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam and Taiwan.
