RISCH ORDERS FLAGS TO HALF-STAFF Four killed in helicopter crash BOISE - Governor Jim Risch has ordered flags at the State Capitol Building and other state buildings and facilities to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, August 19 and Saturday, August 26 in honor of Lillian May Patten, Michael Lewis, Monica Zajanc, and pilot Quin Stone. The four were killed when their helicopter crashed in the Payette National Forest on Sunday, August 13 while on fire-suppression duty. “We owe an invaluable debt of gratitude to these four individuals for their courage and actions in the pursuit of service to our state,” Risch said. “Their commitment and selfless service will not soon be forgotten. It’s appropriate that we honor the lives of these individuals and mark their passing by flying the flag at half-staff.” Funeral services will be held on Saturday the 19th for Michael Lewis in Donnelly and for Monica Zajanc at the University of Idaho Field Plant in McCall. Funeral services for Lillian Patten and Quin Stone will be held on Saturday, August 26 in Portland, OR and Emmett, ID respectively.
