GOVERNOR RISCH CREATES COMMITTEE TO HELP Advisory Committee to Address Concerns About Manufactured Home Living in Idaho BOISE – Governor Risch signed Executive Order 2006-37 in his office today creating the Governor’s Manufactured Home Park Advisory Committee. The committee will address concerns raised by occupants of mobile home parks around the state about the complexity of the laws and rules governing manufactured home ownership. “Aging mobile home parks are occupied by some of the most vulnerable people in our society,” said Risch. “We need to protect these individuals and provide alternatives to being forced out on the streets due to lack of options and resources.” The Manufactured Home Park Advisory Committee is made up of twenty-five individuals with backgrounds in housing organizations, developers, and agency personnel all with a particular expertise in manufactured home park living. Governor Risch appointed Connie Hoglund of Boise, and Pat Engel of Garden City as co-chairs of the committee. The committee will be staffed and overseen by both the Department of Health and Welfare, and the Department of Commerce and Labor. The committee is also tasked to work with appropriate State agencies in Idaho and surrounding states in addition to other interested parties to make recommendations to the Governor about the State’s role in a collaborative effort aimed at helping individuals who live in mobile homes and are forced to relocate but lack the means to do so. ### |
