RISCH APPOINTS JIM MARRIOT TO DISTRICT 28
(BOISE) Governor Jim Risch today appointed Jim Marriott to fill the vacant House of Representatives seat in Legislative District 28. The district encompasses most of Bingham County. Marriott is a long-time resident of Bingham County where he served as the business administrator for the Blackfoot Medical Clinic from July 1978 until his retirement in March 1998. He currently runs a small cattle operation and works as an assistant surveyor for Centennial Enterprises. “It is a pleasure to appoint Jim to this vacant House seat. His small business background will be a real asset in serving the folks in District 28,” said Risch. “And I certainly like the fact that he is now in the cattle business.” Marriott replaces Joe Cannon who resigned following the legislative session. Cannon was in his second term as State Representative. “I am delighted to be selected by the Governor for the seat. I look forward to representing the people of the district to the best of my ability,” said Marriott. Marriott graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. He and his wife Colleen reside in the Riverside area and have 4 children and 21 grandchildren. ### |
