RISCH ANNOUNCES OPENING OF COEUR D’ALENE - Governor Jim Risch today announced the opening of a North Idaho office in Coeur d’Alene. The office will house one person who will work on constituent service issues and serve as a liaison to area communities and organizations for the Governor. “Opening an office in northern Idaho is a big step in achieving my goal of increasing constituent service for Idahoans,” said Risch. “I want to provide easier access to my office for citizens who are not in the Boise area.” The Governor announced that Luke Malek, a native of Post Falls, would staff the office. Malek most recently worked at the Dirne Community Health Center in Coeur d’Alene as the Chief Development and Communications Officer. Malek also worked as a health care intern in Senator Larry Craig’s office in Washington, D.C. He is a 2004 graduate of Albertson College of Idaho, where he served as student body president while earning his degree in politics and economics. Malek resides in Coeur d’Alene. “I am excited and humbled to be part of the extraordinary team that Governor Risch has pulled together. I look forward to being a resource to the people of North Idaho where they can voice their comments, concerns and questions to the Governor in a timely and personal manner,” said Malek. The new office is located in the Harbor Center at 1000 W. Hubbard Avenue. The building is the site of the old Osprey restaurant. Governor Risch said that Idaho’s Washington, D.C. office, opened in May of 1999, will close. One other state office similar to Coeur d’Alene’s will open in the near future in Idaho Falls. ### |
