Annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Governor Jim Risch and First Lady Vicki Risch will host the Annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Thursday at the Statehouse. There will be several musical performances from local organizations and schools surrounding the official lighting of the tree. Afterward, there will be a public reception inside the Capitol Building for all to see the wonderful decorations inside the Capitol dome. Hot apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee, and treats of all kinds will be served, and Santa Claus will be on hand for pictures with children and families throughout the ceremony. After the tree lighting, the crowd will adjourn to the inside of the Capitol for refreshments and entertainment by the Hand Bell Choir, carolers, and the 25th Army Band. The evening will conclude at 8:00 p.m. ### |
