FORMER FOREST SUPERVISOR NAMED (BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced the appointment today of former Clearwater National Forest Supervisor Fred Trevey (TREE’-vee) of Lewiston to the Region 2 position on the Idaho Fish and Game Commission. Now retired from the U.S. Forest Service and working as a private consultant, Trevey succeeds Alex Irby of Orofino on the seven-member commission. Irby’s term expired June 30. Trevey was supervisor of the Orofino-based Clearwater National Forest from 1988 to 1991. He later was supervisor of the Coconino National Forest based in Flagstaff, Arizona, from 1991 to 1998. He has a bachelor’s degree in forestry and wildlife management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and 32 years of professional experience in natural resources management. “Idaho sportsmen are lucky to have someone with Fred’s talent and insight willing to take on this responsibility,” Governor Otter said. “He has a well-earned reputation for bringing folks together to work through tough problems. I’m very pleased to have Fred working on behalf of our wildlife resources, sportsmen and all of Idaho.” Trevey’s term on the Fish and Game Commission runs through June 2011. Governor Otter also announced today that Fish and Game Commission Chairman Cameron Wheeler of Ririe was reappointed to a new four-year term through June 2011. ### |
