OTTER APPOINTS HAGEDORN TO IDAHO HOUSE

(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced the appointment on Thursday of Republican Marv Hagedorn of Meridian to fill the District 20B Idaho House of Representatives seat vacated by Shirley McKague’s appointment to the Idaho Senate.

McKague was appointed by Governor Otter last week to fill the Senate seat vacated by Republican Gerry Sweet of Meridian, who resigned to become Congressman Bill Sali’s district director.

Hagedorn is a North Idaho native and Potlatch High School graduate who retired in 1994 after a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. He later worked for Applied Materials in Boise as an engineer and in operations and logistics management before forming his own construction and agricultural equipment importing and brokerage company in 2004.

Hagedorn also is vice chairman of Idaho Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife. He and his wife Patty have two grown children.

“Marv brings great balance and broad experience to his role in the House of Representatives,” Otter said. “His background, training and temperament will make him a terrific citizen legislator. I’m proud to be able to appoint him.”
