NEW SIXTH DISTRICT JUDGE APPOINTED POCATELLO ATTORNEY NAMED TO FILL CARIBOU COUNTY BENCH SEAT (BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced the appointment today of Pocatello attorney Mitchell W. Brown to fill the Sixth Judicial District vacancy left by the recent retirement of Judge Don Harding. Brown, whose chambers will be in Soda Springs, has been a partner since 1998 in the law firm of Racine Olson Nye Budge & Bailey, Chartered, where he has practiced both civil and criminal law since 1990. The 47-year-old Wyoming native has a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and received his law degree from the University of Idaho. Brown and his wife Tricia have four children. “Rarely has a candidate for a judgeship come to me so well respected and uniformly considered by his colleagues, peers and the public to be the right person for the job,” Governor Otter said. “My review of his qualifications, experience and demeanor lead me to agree. I’m confident Judge Brown’s appointment is one from which the people of southeastern Idaho will benefit for years to come.” ### |
