GOVERNOR’S TRANSPORTATION FUNDING TASK FORCE – COST ALLOCATION SUBCOMMITTEE TO MEET MONDAY
(Boise) – How to determine whether Idaho’s varied highway users are paying their share to fund the State’s transportation system is the focus of a subcommittee of the Governor’s Task Force on Modernizing Transportation Funding. The Cost Allocation Subcommittee will meet on Monday, February 8th, at 1:30 p.m. in the Capitol’s East Wing Garden Level, Room 40.
The cost allocation subcommittee is charged with providing guidance and input for Idaho’s highway cost allocation study and to make recommendations to the task force.
The study will examine potential ways to equalize the funding structure to achieve equity among broad vehicle classes for the maintenance, operation and improvement of highways. The subcommittee will learn about the proposed methodology and approach for the cost allocation study, and has invited stakeholders to share their input.
Members of the subcommittee include: co-chairmen Jim Kempton and Mark Bowen; state Senators John McGee, Shawn Keough and Edgar Malepeai; state Representatives JoAn Wood and Bill Killen; and Jim Riley.
