WHEREAS, the Gamma Theta Chapter
of Kappa Sigma fraternity was the first men’s national fraternity in Idaho; and
WHEREAS, the year 2005 marks the
centennial celebration of a quality leadership development program and provides
an opportunity to salute the dynamic men who have given their time, talents and
resources to the university, to the state and to the nation; and
WHEREAS, the men of Gamma Theta of
Kappa Sigma make the University of Idaho such a wonderful place to live, study
and learn; and
WHEREAS, the Gamma Theta of Kappa
Sigma Centennial Celebration will include many University of Idaho graduates,
and this group includes statewide leaders in Idaho commerce, industry, research
and education; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the
fraternity is to complement and enhance the educational mission of the host
institution; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the
fraternity is the personal growth and development of its members; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the
fraternity is to promote ethical behavior and decision-making; and
WHEREAS, the University of Idaho
and the Gamma Theta of Kappa Sigma is to be commended for a century of working
toward the betterment of their campus and community and in doing so contribute
to the betterment of themselves;
NOW, THEREFORE, I DIRK KEMPTHORNE,
Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim September 23rd 2005, to be
GAMMA THETA OF KAPPA SIGMA CENTENNIAL YEAR DAY
in Idaho.
IN
WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great
Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in Boise on this fourteenth day of
September in the year of our Lord two-thousand and five and of the Independence
of the United States of America the two hundred thirtieth and of the Statehood
of Idaho the one hundred sixteenth.
