WHEREAS, Health Centers provide a vital service in our state’s health delivery system that is meeting escalating health needs, reducing health disparities, and bringing doctors and health services into rural communities; and WHEREAS, Health Centers make an enormous contribution to Idaho communities by providing health care to all who seek it. Health Centers are designed to lower the costs of disease through accessible and affordable primary care and prevention; and WHEREAS, Health Centers provide services to fit the special needs and priorities of the communities in which they exist; and WHEREAS, Health Centers provide innovative programs designed to ensure patients access to medical treatment, coordinated care and vital support services that can lead to positive health outcomes; and WHEREAS, Health Centers contribute to the health and well being of the State of Idaho by keeping children healthy and in school and helping adults remain productive and on the job; NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. RISCH, Governor of the State of Idaho do hereby proclaim August 7th through the 11th, 2006, to be HEALTH CENTER WEEK in the State of Idaho. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in Boise on this 8th day of August in the year of our Lord two thousand and six and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred thirty-first and of the Statehood of Idaho the one hundred seventeenth.
