WHEREAS, professional engineers
have made significant contributions to Idaho throughout its history and are
responsible through their creativity for the technological achievements that
have improved the quality of our lives and helped us compete in an increasingly
technological world; and
WHEREAS, there are presently some,
licensed professional engineers practicing in Idaho, who hold major
responsibilities for the benefit and protection of Idaho citizens in the areas
of public safety, health, welfare, the environment, transportation structures,
water, power and communications, as well as mechanical, electrical and
electronic devices important to everyday life; and
WHEREAS, there are currently
hundreds of students enrolled in Colleges of Engineering located on the campuses
of Idaho’s three major universities, whose graduates have gone on to contribute
to the economic health of our state and nation; and
WHEREAS, engineers contribute to
the education of our young people, especially in the fields of mathematics and
science, to meet even greater challenges in the future;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIRK
KEMPTHORNE, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim February 19th
through 25th, 2006, to be

in Idaho.
IN
WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great
Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in Boise on this twenty-fourth day of
January in the year of our Lord two-thousand and six and of the Independence of
the United States of America the two hundred thirtieth and of the Statehood of
Idaho the one hundred sixteenth.
