WHEREAS, the progress and
well-being of the citizens of Idaho depend to a great extent upon excellence in
education and training for the highly technological “World of Work” as provided
in the school systems of this state; and
WHEREAS, professional-technical
education is a vital force in the development of workers to meet the economic
and technological demands of a rapidly changing and complex society; and
WHEREAS, the congress of the
United States and the Legislature of the State of Idaho have recognized these
problems and have acted upon them through appropriate legislation; and
WHEREAS, professional
contributions to professional-technical education of this state have assisted
our youth and adults in the process of preparation to meet their employment
needs; and
WHEREAS, the second week in
February is established as “Professional-Technical Education Week” and is
supported by Career and Technical Education of Idaho and the Association for
Career and Technical Education;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIRK
KEMPTHORNE, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim the week of
February 16th through 22nd, 2006 to be
P R O F E S S I O N A L - T E C H N I C A L E D
U C A T I O N W E E K
in Idaho, and I urge all Idahoans to observe this week through recognition of
the importance of its theme, “preparing today’s students for tomorrows careers,”
and through becoming better acquainted with Professional-Technical Education,
its purposes and programs, by visits to professional-technical institutions and
attendance at programs held throughout the state.

Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in Boise on this seventeenth day of
January in the year of our Lord two-thousand and six and of the Independence of
