        WHEREAS, Gary Stevens has had one of the most successful careers as a Jockey in the history of American horseracing, including eight Breeder’s Cup victories; and

        WHEREAS, Gary Stevens is one of only twenty Jockeys who have achieved 5,000 career wins; and

        WHEREAS, it is important to recognize Idahoans like Gary Stevens who have represented our state so successfully on the national and international level; and

        WHEREAS, Gary Stevens will celebrate his homecoming at Les Bois Park in Boise, Idaho on July 15, 2006, the race track where he rode his first thoroughbred winner Lil Star in 1979.

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. RISCH, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim the week of July 10th, 2006, to be:

        in Idaho.
