        WHEREAS, Idaho has been richly blessed in natural beauty, reflecting God’s miracle of creation; and

        WHEREAS, the importance of our Christian heritage to the traditions and values of Idaho is immeasurable; and

        WHEREAS, the Christian heritage of our nation is recognized in the writings and accomplishments of our citizens and in the public documents and utterances; and

        WHEREAS, the history of the Christian faith and traditions of our people is reflected in practices in our public institutions and by our government officials; and

        WHEREAS, learning about the importance of our Christian heritage to our institutions values and vision is invaluable, and teaching future generations about the important role of Christian heritage is meaningful to peoples of all faiths, just as learning about the heritage of other faiths is meaningful to Christians;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. RISCH, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim October 22-28, 2006 to be

CHRISTIAN HERITAGE WEEK

in Idaho.
