WHEREAS, September of each year is recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month throughout the nation; and WHEREAS, nearly 5,000 children throughout the Rocky Mountain area suffer with cancer and have been, or are currently, being treated for childhood cancer; and WHEREAS, more than 150 children are newly diagnosed with cancer each year in the Rocky Mountain area; and NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. RISCH, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim September 2006 to be CHILD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH in Idaho.
