        WHEREAS, Idaho has declared this as the Generation of the Child; and

        WHEREAS, the health and well-being of children is our collective responsibility; and

        WHEREAS, the safety of our children is a significant concern for parents, community leaders, and healthcare givers; and

        WHEREAS, environmental welfare is of universal concern and deserves our utmost attention; and

        WHEREAS, when started in early childhood, proper health, safety and environmental habits can be maintained for a lifetime, thus producing valued members of society and enhancing our community overall;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. RISCH, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim Idaho’s participation in

K I D S   D A Y   A M E R I C A

on September 16, 2006 and dedicate this day to the efforts of chiropractic doctors in helping to educate our young citizens on the importance of health, safety, and environmental issues affecting our communities.
