WHEREAS, the use of ethanol and biodiesel strengthen America's national security by providing our country a stable, domestic, renewable energy supply; and WHEREAS, clean-burning ethanol and biodiesel can improve air quality by significantly reducing polluting emissions; and WHEREAS, Idaho’s modern farming industry can grow renewable crops used to produce ethanol and biodiesel which could represent a considerable boon to our economy; and WHEREAS, the expansion of ethanol and biodiesel production and its subsequent use in Idaho fuels is a demonstration of Idaho's commitment to environmentally sound energy development and a sustainable national energy future; and WHEREAS, a partnership of Idaho public and private sector representatives are conducting intensive ethanol and biodiesel public awareness activities in Idaho during the month of September; NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. RISCH, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim the month of September 2006 to be IDAHO RENEWABLE FUELS AWARENESS DAYS and encourage all Idahoans to learn about renewable fuels.
