WHEREAS, horses in Idaho serve their many owners in various ways, from work to play; and

        WHEREAS, historically, the horse has been a major factor in production and transportation in Idaho; and

        WHEREAS, the horse industry in Idaho is a significant contributor to the economy; and

        WHEREAS, the Idaho Horse Council represents all areas of interest from trail riding, racing, showing, ranch work, rodeo, youth programs, breeding, packing and hunting; and

        WHEREAS, on April 20th through 22nd, the Idaho Horse Council will be sponsoring the nineteenth annual “Horse Expo” at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa; and

        WHEREAS, this event will be filled with merchant displays, horse displays, farrier demonstrations, educational presentations, special breed presentations and a working ranch rodeo;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim April 15 through 22, 2007, to be

HORSE  WEEK

in Idaho.
