WHEREAS, identical twins Walter Daniel Mueller and Clarence David Mueller were born on April 25, 1913 near the small logging community of St. Maries, Idaho; and WHEREAS, Walter and Clarence Mueller were married and raised their families not more than ten miles from where they were born on the St. Joe River; and WHEREAS, following in the footsteps of their older brother Herman Mueller, who was killed in a logging accident, Walter and Clarence Mueller, along with their late brother Edwin Mueller, contributed to the economy of St. Maries and the Great State of Idaho through their business, Mueller Brothers Logging; and WHEREAS, the Mueller brothers worked at their trade while staying at logging camps on the jobs where they worked, often separating them from the daily lives of their families during the week; and WHEREAS, many of Walter and Clarence Mueller’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have followed in the footsteps of the Mueller brothers through their involvement in the logging and timber industries, continuing to support the timber industry of St. Maries and the State of Idaho; and WHEREAS, Walter and Clarence Mueller will celebrate their ninety-fourth birthday on April 25, 2007; and WHEREAS, the life, work and contributions to the State of Idaho from these men is commendable and honorable; and WHEREAS, it is astounding that the Mueller Brothers are identical twins and still both living in St. Maries today; NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho do hereby send greetings and best wishes in recognition of Walter Daniel Mueller and Clarence David Mueller on the occasion of their ninety-fourth birthday and declare April 25, 2007 to be: WALTER DANIEL AND CLARENCE DAVID
