WHEREAS, Idaho believes in increasing motivation, innovation and achievement for students and educators; and

        WHEREAS, Northwest Professional Educators is a nonprofit professional association serving educators across the State of Idaho; and

        WHEREAS, Northwest Professional Educators provides teachers with a choice that empowers them as academic professionals while providing them the protections they want most; and

        WHEREAS, Northwest Professional Educators focuses on students as teachers’ highest priority and advancing the professionalism of educators so that they receive the respect, recognition and reward they deserve; and

        WHEREAS, Northwest Professional Educators provides scholarships, grants and professional development to increase the effectiveness of Idaho educators and enhance educational achievement; and

        WHEREAS, Northwest Professional Educators provides professional liability benefits and legal services for its members; and

        WHEREAS, Northwest Professional Educators is dedicated to giving its members a voice in the development and advocacy of policies focused on student achievement and professional integrity.

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim April 23, 2007

AND  TEACHER  CHOICE  DAY

in Idaho.
