WHEREAS, the sport of bowling provides a great foundation and offers skills for a lifetime, which include building strength, coordination, enhancing self-esteem and goal setting abilities; and

        WHEREAS, bowling represents an opportunity to improve physical fitness for every age, race, gender, and ability level; and

        WHEREAS, bowlers in Idaho come together not only to compete, but to participate in the camaraderie that builds lasting friendships and provides for a family friendly activity and environment; and

        WHEREAS, bowling represents an important sporting and social activity in the lives of many Idahoans;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim August 21-31, 2007 as

NATIONAL BOWLING WEEK

in Idaho.
