WHERAS, community health centers in Idaho have provided community-directed effective and efficient health care in Idaho for over thirty years; and WHEREAS, community health centers in Idaho work to provide 100% access to care for all individuals of any income level; and WHEREAS, Idaho community health centers form a health care system through 10 centers located in 34 communities across Idaho; and WHEREAS, community health centers in Idaho serve as a medical home for nearly 100,000 Idahoans especially patients without health care insurance, and provide timely preventive and primary care, saving lives and taxpayer dollars by providing early treatment and diagnoses for illnesses; and WHEREAS, community health centers in Idaho are Idaho’s community safety net providers and a sound public investment for our citizens advocating patient responsibility requiring all patients to participate in their cost of care; NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim the Week of August 5-11, 2007 as Community Health Center Week in Idaho
