WHEREAS, Montie Clyde Ralstin, Junior is celebrating his 60th birthday with family, friends, and the congregation of Boise Valley Christian Communion; and WHEREAS, Montie served as president of the Idaho Branch of Associated General Contractors of America in 1982, and serves as a honorary lifetime member of the association; and WHEREAS, Montie, an Eagle Scout, has participated in the Boy Scouts of America for fifty-two years in Idaho and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Ore-Ida Council; and WHEREAS, Pastor Ralstin served the Fifty-Fifth Idaho Legislature as Chaplin of the Senate in 2000; and WHEREAS, Pastor Ralstin joined the Governor and other leaders in responding to President George W. Bush’s call for prayer and remembrance for the victims of September 11, 2001; and WHEREAS, Pastor Ralstin serves with other pastors and business persons to promote faith events in our valley; and WHEREAS, Pastor Ralstin, as President of the Christian Churches of the Treasure Valley, serves with other pastors to promote unity among the churches of our valley; and WHEREAS, after a long history together in this State it is an honor to call him “Rev” and him call me “Gov”; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the state of Idaho, do hereby officially proclaim August 13, 2007, as “Montie Clyde Ralstin, Junior Day” and encourage the citizens of Idaho to join in this observance by supporting all efforts to preserve Pastor Ralstin’s place in Idaho’s history.
