WHEREAS, it is important that all Idahoans have access to our state government resources and elected officials; and WHEREAS, the “Capitol for a Day” program is designed to provide an opportunity for the Governor and other state officials to meet Idahoans who live outside of the capital city and gain a firsthand understanding of the issues that are important to them; and WHEREAS, while the State Capitol, seat of Idaho state government, remains in Boise, Governor Otter plans to visit and conduct business in “every corner” of the State during his administration; and WHEREAS, Idaho State Police Trooper Chris Glenn, who was wounded in the line of duty and subsequently paralyzed, is from Kimberly, Idaho, and Trooper Glenn represents the courage, honor, dedication to civic duty and heroism to which all Idahoans aspire; and WHEREAS, Governor Otter and the First Lady are excited and enthusiastic about their visit to Kimberly, Idaho, and the broader Magic Valley, and about listening to the concerns and hopes of local residents; NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim February 16, 2007, to be “C A P I T O L F O R A
