WHEREAS, the progress and well-being of the citizens of Idaho depend to a great extent upon excellence in education and training for the highly technological “World of Work” as provided in the school systems of this State; and WHEREAS, Professional-Technical Education is a vital force in the development of workers to meet the economic and technological demands of a rapidly changing and complex society; and WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States and the Legislature of the State of Idaho have recognized these problems and have acted upon them through appropriate legislation; and WHEREAS, professional contributions to Professional-Technical Education of this State have assisted our youth and adults in the process of preparation to meet their employment needs; and WHEREAS, the month of February is established as “Professional-Technical Education Month” and is supported by Professional- Technical Education of Idaho and the Association for Career and Technical Education; NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim February 2007 to be P R O F E S S I O N A L - T E C H N I C A L E D U C A T I O N M O N T H in Idaho, and I urge all Idahoans to observe this week through recognition of
the importance of its theme, “connecting education and careers” and through
becoming better acquainted with Professional-Technical Education, its purposes
and programs, by visits to professional-technical institutions and attendance at
programs held throughout the state.
