WHEREAS, Mike Johnson has been a dedicated public servant for 34 years beginning as a deputy coroner with Ada County in 1972; and

        WHEREAS, in 1974, Mike started his law enforcement career with the Ada County Sheriff's Department as a part-time boat patrol officer, and later that year was made a full-time sheriff’s deputy in Boise County; and

        WHEREAS, in 1978, Mike was elected Ada County Coroner and, in 1984, Mike was elected to the Ada County Commission; and

        WHEREAS, in 1990, Mike was appointed as the United States Marshal for Idaho by President George H.W. Bush; and

        WHEREAS, after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks Mike further served the people of Idaho through effectively elevating the Boise Airport Police to the level of preparedness necessary to meet the threats of modern terrorism; and

        WHEREAS, Mike Johnson has served the people of Idaho with distinction through effective leadership at the city, county and federal levels of government; and

        WHEREAS, Mike Johnson is meritorious of the esteem and gratitude of all Idahoans for his years of public service;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim January 26, 2007 to be
