        WHEREAS, nonprofit organizations represent a significant boon to Idaho’s economy while positively impacting the physical, moral and social wellbeing of all Idahoans; and

        WHEREAS, Idaho’s nonprofit organizations often are charities or service organizations that meet the needs of a particular portion of society which would otherwise be neglected; and

        WHEREAS, healthy communities across Idaho owe a debt of gratitude to the nonprofit sector and its many organizations that have selflessly invested in Idaho’s future; and

        WHEREAS, according to the most recent data there are more than 1,110 reporting charitable nonprofit organizations in Idaho; and

        WHEREAS, the health and continued growth of Idaho nonprofits reflects the persevering spirit of volunteerism and charity espoused by many citizens of our State; and

        WHEREAS, it is important to recognize our important nonprofit sector in Idaho;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim January 18, 2007, to be

and do encourage all Idahoans to continue to recognize and support the nonprofit organizations in their communities and statewide.
