WHEREAS, an urgent need exists for furthering and expanding the public’s understanding of free enterprise and the economic system under which our nation and our state have flourished; and

        WHEREAS, the secondary school system of Idaho, represented by the Superintendent of Public Instruction; the higher education system of Idaho, represented by Boise State University; and the business community of Idaho, represented by the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry, have worked in spirited cooperation to improve public economic understanding; and

        WHEREAS, some 500 high school students and 30 teachers will gain insight from two separate one-week educational sessions during the month of July; and

        WHEREAS, Idaho Business Week is an exemplary exercise of people working together to solve problems and gain understanding with great benefits for all people of Idaho and is an excellent learning experience for everyone involved;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim July 8 through July 14, 2007, to be

in Idaho, and encourage all Idahoans to be aware of the spirit of cooperation between business, education and the participants of Idaho Business Week as they apply their insights to the leadership roles of the future.
