WHEREAS, The Stockdale Family, Ryan, Karia, Kayden, Jetty, Baylee, and McKinnon, were selected to receive a new home by ABC and the Extreme Makeover, Home Edition Team; and, WHEREAS, the children of the Stockdale family, face a multitude of medical challenges, including the life threatening disease Eosinophilic Enteropathy, which is a rare white blood cell disease that no cure exists for currently; and WHEREAS, the current condition of the Stockdale home has contributed to the deterioration of the health of the children because of inadequate ventilation, lack of appropriate water resources, hazardous mold, and the lack of overall healthy home necessities; and WHEREAS, the Stockdale Family will receive a new home that will significantly improve their quality of life and give the children a greater chance to overcome the their diseases by allowing them to function, play and live in a safe and healthy environment; and, WHEREAS, despite all of these challenges, the family has contributed to members of their community through their time, talents and skills; and, WHEREAS, this new home has been made possible because of ABC and the Extreme Makeover, Home Edition Team, CBH Homes and Corey Barton, and the thousands of volunteers and charitable contributions from the Treasure Valley Community, NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “Butch” Otter, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim July 18, 2007, as THE STOCKDALE FAMILY RECOGNITION
