WHEREAS, the Idaho Watercolor Society promotes and supports the watercolor media and educates the public on the significance of watercolor without bias toward any style; and WHEREAS, the Idaho Watercolor Society is comprised of more than 300 members throughout Idaho including five organized branches representing the North Region, East Region, Southeast Region, South Central Region and the Southwest Region; and WHEREAS, throughout the year, the Society sponsors open and juried exhibitions and workshops conducted by leading watercolorists from Idaho and the nation and also sponsors annual Ruth Clark Watercolor Scholarships in honor of the founder of the Society; and WHEREAS, a selection of award-winning works from each Annual Juried Exhibition is sent to each of the five membership regions in Idaho for public display so all our citizens can have the opportunity to enjoy these outstanding works; and WHEREAS, this year, the Idaho Watercolor Society will be presenting the 28th Annual Juried Show and Exhibition at Boise State University from May 22nd through June 27th; NOW, THEREFORE, I, C. L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim the weeks of May 20th through June 30th, 2007, to be IDAHO WATERCOLOR SOCIETY WEEKS in Idaho, and I encourage all Idahoans to support our watercolor artists and enjoy these outstanding works by visiting these shows and exhibitions.
