WHEREAS, the health of the citizens of Idaho is a major concern and responsibility of all health care professionals serving them; and
WHEREAS, the majority of all people seeking medical care receive at least one form of medical imaging; and
WHEREAS, professionals in medical imaging are nationally registered radiologic (x-ray) technologists and are formally educated to perform radiographs (x-rays), MRIs, CT scans, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, cardiovascular and/or interventional radiology, and radiation therapy; and
WHEREAS, qualified practitioners who specialize in the use of medical radiation and imaging technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease share a commitment to bringing the people of Idaho a safer, more compassionate environment now and in the future; and
WHEREAS, professionals in radiologic sciences are dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism, and are committed to maintaining and improving this through education, lifelong learning, credentialing and personal commitment; and
WHEREAS, November 4-10, 2007, has been designated National Radiologic Technology WeekŪ to focus on the safe medical radiation environment provided through the skilled and conscientious efforts of radiologic technologists;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim the month of November 4-10, 2007 to be
IDAHO RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY WEEK
and urge all of our citizens to
recognize this event and participate in its observance.
