        WHEREAS, the United States Congress, by joint resolution (Public Law 88-628) approved on October 6, 1964, as amended, has designated October 15th of each year as “White Cane Safety Day.”

       

        WHEREAS, the White Cane is both a tool and a symbol of the visually impaired/blind; and

 

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim October15, 2007, to be

 

WHITE CANE SAFETY DAY

 

in Idaho.
