       WHEREAS the United States Air Force was established when the first Secretary of the Air Force Stuart Symington was sworn in on September 18, 1947; and

 

        WHEREAS the United States Air Force exists to defend the freedom of our citizens and our nation’s security interests; and

 

        WHEREAS many citizens of Idaho have served their nation and given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms as members of the United States Air Force; and

 

        WHEREAS it is proper to recognize the United States Air Force annually on its birthday, and to thank those who have served and those who are presently servings;

 

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of Idaho, do hereby proclaim September 18th, 2007, the United States Air Force’s 60th birthday, and declare the period from September 16th-22nd, 2007
