WHEREAS, the Southern Idaho Regional BBQ Competition will be held in Star, Idaho, on September 22, 2007; and

        WHEREAS, the Southern Idaho Regional BBQ Competition is an event involving teams and judges from the entire Pacific Northwest, including Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Utah and Montana and will draw visitors from these areas; and

        WHEREAS, the four BBQ categories of the competition include ribs, chicken, pork and brisket; and

        WHEREAS, the grand champion of the Southern Idaho Regional BBQ Competition will be designated as an Idaho State Champion and will be eligible to enter the draw for the Jack Daniel’s Invitational and be invited to the American Royal and Great American BBQ events;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “Butch” Otter, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim September 22, 2007, as

SOUTHERN IDAHO REGIONAL BBQ COMPETITION DAY
