WHEREAS, fraud is an increasingly expensive burden on our nation’s economy, and Idahoans are robbed of thousands of dollars by fraudulent acts, whether committed by sophisticated criminals, consumers or business owners; and

        WHEREAS, Idaho citizens of all ages, races and incomes must increase their awareness of fraud in its various forms; and

        WHEREAS, Idahoans are encouraged to exercise their rights and responsibilities by becoming better educated and addressing concerns about fraud to the proper authorities and taking corrective action through proper reporting; and

        WHEREAS, the Idaho Department of Insurance and other organizations throughout the state are working diligently to increase fraud awareness and educate professionals, volunteers and the public about fraud prevention and reporting;

        NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim August 18-22, 2008, as

IDAHO FRAUD AWARENESS WEEK
