WHEREAS, Idaho has a rich heritage and history of hunting, fishing and trapping
that makes Idaho a unique region in our country; and
WHEREAS, Idaho is virtually unmatched its ability to provide sportsmen with
abundant wildlife and habitat to hunt, fish and trap; and
WHEREAS, conservation is critically important to ensuring that future
generations can enjoy and participate in Idaho’s treasured hunting, fishing and
trapping traditions; and
WHEREAS, hunters, trappers and anglers are vital to Idaho’s conservation efforts
by employing ethical and legal methods of take, by providing financial support
for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and by providing information about
how to make regulations more effective;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, C.L. “BUTCH” OTTER, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby
proclaim January 17, 2008, to be
IDAHO’S HUNTING HERITAGE DAY
