Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter is joined by Idaho Department of Fish and Game Director Cal Groen and the department’s volunteer
coordinator Mary Dudley, as he and over a hundred volunteers gather sagebrush seed in an effort to rehabilitate more than 650,000 acres
of Idaho range blackened by this summer’s wildfires. The Governor posed with a customized seed hopper made for him.

 


Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter and Dyke Nally, Superintendent of the Idaho Liquor Dispensary gather sagebrush seed into specially made hoppers.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game estimates 120 people participated in the Treasure Valley and another 40 volunteers
were gathering seed in the Magic Valley. The seeds will be used to help rehabilitate the more than 650,000 acres of
sagebrush steppe burned by the Murphy Fire in southern Idaho and northern Nevada.
 

 

Governor Otter participates in the Idaho Department of Fish and Game’s wild seed collection effort for rehabilitation of Idaho rangeland
habitat after last summer’s wildfires. The seed collection took place north of Boise off Idaho Highway 21 past Lucky Peak Dam.
Volunteers helped gather 460 pounds of sagebrush seed Saturday.

The Governor and First Lady Lori Otter meet with Rabbi Mendel
Lifshitz and his wife Esther. The Rabbi is the Director of the Chabad
Jewish Center in Boise. He discussed cultural issues as well as
presented the Governor and First Lady with a gift in honor of
Chanukah the Jewish Holiday.

 


Rabbi Mendel Lifshitz and his wife Esther present the Governor and
First Lady with a Menorah in honor of the Jewish Holiday of
Chanukah. The Menorah is one of the oldest and most recognizable
symbols of the Jewish faith.
 

 

"Capital for a Day" in Glenns Ferry, ID  December 17, 2007


A large crowd of about 150 people gather for “Capital for a Day” in
Glenns Ferry, Idaho. The monthly event, hosted in different locations
around the state, was held at VFW Post #3646
in downtown Glenns Ferry.


The Governor thanks members of VFW Post #3646 who helped host
the Governor’s “Capital for a Day” in Glenns Ferry.


The Governor was joined by almost two dozen state officials
including members of his cabinet.


The Governor helps Steve Romano, the CEO of U.S. Ecology Idaho present a check to “The Cheer Basket of Mountain Home”
an Elmore County charity, during the luncheon portion of “Capital for a Day” in Glenns Ferry.
