Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter is greeted by tribal leaders as he arrives
at the Duck Valley Reservation to get a briefing and answer questions
about the Murphy Complex Fire. The fire knocked out power to
residents for several days.


The Governor climbs into an Idaho National Guard Blackhawk
helicopter to begin an aerial tour of the “Murphy Complex Fire.”

assessment from tribal leaders on the fire’s impact and aftermath.

650,000 acres that were blackened by the largest wild fire
in the United States.

A standing-room-only crowd gathers at the Three Creeks
Schoolhouse to listen to Idaho leaders and express their
concerns over Federal land management policies many believe
responsible for contributing to the size and intensity of the
Murphy Complex Fire.


Actor Matt Damon is photographed along with Idaho First Lady Lori Otter, Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter, and
Producer Frank Marshall. The Governor moments earlier had a meeting with the actor about opportunities to increase the number of
motion pictures filmed in the Gem State. The Governor and First Lady were invited to attend a special premiere screening of
Damon’s new movie “The Bourne Ultimatum” on July 30th, at the Egyptian Theatre in downtown Boise.
