The Governor meets with members of his Transportation Funding Task Force. This was the first meeting of the bipartisan panel made up of lawmakers and interested stakeholders. The purpose of the task force is to develop a long-range, comprehensive funding strategy for Idaho’s transportation system that will meet Idaho’s needs for the next 20-30 years.


Rigby & Chubbuck Groundbreaking August 12, 2009
Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter joined local residents, business and government leaders in Rigby and in Chubbuck to formally launch two highway construction projects that will create jobs, improve safety and reduce congestion in eastern Idaho.

The Governor spends some time observing and talking with teenagers at the Edson Fichter Trail and Nature area, near Indian Hill Elementary school in Pocatello. The Governor visits with students taking part in the Summer Youth Conservation Corps employment program administered through the Department of Labor. The summer youth employment program is meant to reach teenagers as well as at-risk students.



Bingham Memorial Hospital Sky bridge and Physician's Extension Ribbon Cutting August 12, 2009
Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter addresses a crowd on hand for the grand opening of the Physician's Complex and Sky bridge at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho.


Governor Otter and Buy Idaho Executive Director Dale Peterson place a Buy Idaho sticker on the door to the new Physician's Complex at Bingham Memorial Hospital. The facility has gone from 226 employees in 2005 to 634 employees today.
Capital for a Day in Ririe, Idaho August 20, 2009

The Governor and the First Lady were asked to tour one of the bridges in Rep. JoAn Wood’s district that is in need of repair. Moments early, during Capital for a Day in Ririe, numerous questions were raised regarding the maintenance of roads and bridges in the region.



August 25, 2009
The Governor poses for a picture with USMC Veterans that helped bring a national veterans convention to Boise, Idaho coming up in 2011.
