The Governor and First Lady accept a plaque from Sean Forbes, President of Virgin Health Miles, for leading Idaho’s winning team in a national health fitness competition. The 14-day competition resulted in a $55,000 prize awarded to combat childhood obesity in Idaho.


Idaho’s team finished in first place after going  head-to-head against other
governors’ teams from across the country, including the state of California,
Texas, Florida, Utah, North Dakota, Indiana, Wisconsin, West Virginia,
Vermont, Alaska, Alabama, Kentucky, and Virginia.

Members of the Executive Stimulus Committee talk with Governor Otter.
The three former Governors serve on that committee and met briefly
in Governor Otter’s office prior to their first official meeting. The bipartisan
panel will provide analysis to Governor Otter on the use of federal stimulus funds.
As established by Executive Order, the Stimulus Executive Committee
will provide its findings and non-binding recommendations to the Governor
no later than close of business on March 19, 2009.  From left to right,

The Governor took callers questions for about an hour. The issues
ranged from the Governor giving up his housing allowance to his
thoughts on the federal stimulus package.

The Director of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Cal Groen presents
Governor Otter with a portrait commemorating the 2008 Redfish Lake Sockeye
Salmon return. The presentation took place at a press conference of the Northwest
Power and Conservation Council that met recently at the Grove Hotel in Boise.
