KEN EDMUNDS  RESIGNS AS DIRECTOR OF THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF LABOR

(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced today that Idaho Department of Labor Director Ken Edmunds has resigned from that position effective immediately.

Paul Spannknebel will serve as acting director while the process to name a successor is conducted. Spannknebel is currently the deputy administrator at the Idaho Division of Human Resources.

The Department of Labor has about 550 employees.

Edmunds was appointed director at the Department of Labor in November of 2013 to replace retiring director Roger Madsen.

The Department of Labor oversees workforce development, provides resources for job seekers, and assists workers with unemployment insurance and benefits.
