GOVERNOR APPOINTS DON BECK TO NEZ PERCE COUNTY COMMISSION

(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch”Otter announced the appointment of retired Fish and Game employee Don Hancock Beck Jr. to fill a vacancy on the Nez Perce County Commission created by the recent resignation of Commissioner Bob Tippet.

Beck, a 40 year resident of the Lewiston area, has served in various capacities on several boards and commissions including 20 years on the Nez Perce Waterways Committee, 20 years on the Clearwater Management Committee and 18 years on the Clearwater Basin Cooperative Weed Management Committee.  Beck worked 20 years for the Idaho Fish and Game Department, retiring in 2016.

Beck will serve out the remainder of Tippet’s term which will end in January of 2019.

Beck’s name was submitted to the Governor along with two other candidates by the Nez Perce County Republican Central Committee. The other two individuals considered were Thomas Eire, a Nez Perce County Republican Party precinct committeemen, and Steve Martin, Chairman of the Lewiston Disability Advisory Committee.
