CAMBRIDGE TO HOST “CAPITAL FOR A DAY"

(BOISE) – Governor C. L. “Butch” Otter announced today that the Washington County town of Cambridge will host his administration’s 107th “Capital for a Day” on Friday, November 30th.

Governor Otter brings State government to Idahoans living outside Boise each month by making a different town in Idaho the state’s “Capital for a Day.” The meetings provide local residents an opportunity to have open discussions about government issues and public policy with Governor Otter, members of his Cabinet and other senior State officials.

The Capital for a Day on November 30th is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cambridge Junior-Senior High School.

State officials joining Governor Otter and First Lady Lori Otter include Idaho State Department of Agriculture Director Celia Gould, Idaho State Board of Education President Dr. Linda Clark, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality Director John Tippets, Idaho Office of Energy and Mineral Resources Administrator John Chatburn, Idaho Fish and Game Director Virgil Moore, Idaho Health and Welfare Director Russ Barron, Idaho Department of Insurance Director Dean Cameron, Idaho Department of Labor Director Melinda Smyser, Idaho State Police Director Colonel Ked Wills. The departments of Commerce, Finance and Transportation, as well as the Divisions of Veterans Services, also will have senior representatives on hand to take questions.

“This will be my 107th ‘Capital for a Day’ and the second to last one of my administration,” said Governor Otter. “Folks in Cambridge are known for their hard work while their community is known for its beautiful scenery. I am looking forward to spending a productive day solving problems and hearing any issues they may need help addressing."
