GOVERNOR OTTER APPOINTS SHOSHONE VETERINARIAN TO LINCOLN COUNTY COMMISSION

(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced the appointment today of Dr. Terry Zech, a Shoshone veterinarian, to the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners vacancy left by the April resignation of Commissioner Cresley McConnell.

Zech will serve out the balance of McConnell’s term, through 2018, but will not be on the November ballot for a term of his own.

He was among three nominees for the District 1 position submitted to Governor Otter by the Lincoln County Republican Central Committee. The former operator of a local movie theater and 13-year member of the Shoshone School Board earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and his veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis.

"I’m excited about the Governor’s appointment and look forward to serving Lincoln County as a commissioner,” Zech said. “We have some interesting challenges in the future and I am committed to being open to public input and will do my best to earn the public’s trust.  I love Lincoln County and want to see us prosper moving forward.”

Zech and his wife, Gayla, have nine children, all of whom attended Shoshone schools.
