WINCHESTER TO HOST “CAPITAL FOR A DAY"

(BOISE) – Governor C.L. “Butch”Otter announced today that the Lewis County town of Winchester will host his administration’s 106th Capital for a Day on Tuesday, October 9th.

Governor Otter brings State government to Idahoans living outside Boise each month by making a different town in Idaho the state’s “Capital for a Day.” The meetings provide local residents an opportunity to have open discussions about government issues and public policy with Governor Otter, members of his Cabinet and other senior State officials.

The Capital for a Day on October 9th is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Winchester Community Center at 417 McBeth Avenue in Winchester.

State officials joining Governor Otter and First Lady Lori Otter include Lieutenant Governor Brad Little, Idaho State Department of Agriculture Director Celia Gould, Idaho Department of Correction Director Henry Atencio, Idaho Fish and Game Director Virgil Moore, Idaho Health and Welfare Director Russ Barron, and Idaho Parks and Recreation Director David Langhorst. The departments of Commerce, Lands, and Transportation, as well as the Divisions of Veterans Services, Building Safety and the Idaho State Police, also will have senior representatives on hand to take questions.

“I am thrilled to bring our ‘Capital for a Day’ program to the community of Winchester,” said Governor Otter. “This community is located within the Nez Perce Reservation, and my cabinet and I are looking forward to spending the day with citizens there, as we listen to their concerns and problems and strive to foster solutions."
