Governor Little appoints James Cawthon to Fourth Judicial District

BOISE, Idaho – Governor Brad Little announced today the appointment of James S. Cawthon, Jr., as District Judge to the Fourth Judicial District Court.

“Judge Cawthon’s extensive experience as a magistrate and with specialty courts makes him extremely qualified for this position,” Governor Little said. “The Fourth Judicial District will be well-served by his continued tenure in Idaho’s judicial system.”

Prior to his appointment as magistrate judge in 2004, Judge Cawthon was a career prosecutor for 13 years in Texas and Idaho. He received his undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.

The Fourth Judicial District includes Ada, Boise, Elmore and Valley counties.
